Blast vibrations are monitored by blasting crews, third-party consultants and regulators. The ground and air waves are recorded at nearby structures using a blasting seismograph. Monitoring is conducted for many reasons, but primarily to ensure that blast vibrations are within levels which are safe for neighboring structures.
